The Republic of Costa Rica is located in Central America, just south of Nicaragua and with borders to the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. The country enjoys a tropical climate and it is home to diverse flora and fauna – around a quarter of its land area is within protected areas and national parks. Some of the animals which can be found there include big cats, monkeys, sloths, lizards and turtles. Ecotourism is now a key industry for the country. Other popular natural sites are the Poás Volcano Crater with its turquoise water, the beach in the Corcovado National Park, and the Rainforest Aerial Tram, located in San José.


Costa Rica’s capital city is San José, with a population of around 160,000. Other places of interest include Puerto Limón, which is known in the country for its annual “carnaval”, and Playas del Coco, a beach community enjoyed by both local people and international visitors. If you’re visiting a town or city it might be useful to know that “Pura Vida”, meaning pure life or good life, is often used as a greeting by people outside or as a reply to being asked how you are.

San Jose: (Located in central Costa Rica)
Learn Spanish in San José, the bustling capital with great shopping, nightlife and the nearest beach is about 2 hours by bus.


LIVE & LEARN IN THE HOME OF YOUR OWN PERSONAL SPANISH TEACHER

We offer this unique way to learn a language, studying and living in the home of your own personal Spanish teacher. We offer a choice of 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours of personal teaching per week plus 3 meals daily. Programs are suitable for any age of student and all levels of language skills.


SPANISH LANGUAGE PROGRAMS FOR TEENS
We offer a choice of Spanish language and activity programs in residential language summer camps or private language school with other international students for ages 13 – 17.
