Enjoy a German language course in Germany at our language school in the city of Berlin.

After a fifty-year lull Berlin is back, as the capital of a reunified Germany, and as one of Europe's great cities. Today, tourism is on the rise as visitors come to savor the intoxicating mix of old and new. The vast sprawl of the city has pockets of attractions dotted all over.

Students will be pleasantly surprised by a city with some of the liveliest nightlife in Europe. There's everything from authentic beer halls to swanky bars and nightclubs. Berlin's climate is equally eclectic with hot summer days giving way to freezing temperatures and clear blue skies, in winter.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
- Central downtown location
- 40 spacious and bright classrooms
- Great facilities including cafeteria, social area, a large TV room, bicycle rental etc
- On-site residence

Our school is located in the artsy Prenzlauer Berg district in the former East Berlin, which is quickly becoming one of Berlin's trendiest neighborhoods.

Established in 1983, our school is one of the leading teaching centers for German and is now officially registered with the Berlin Senate. The area is nicknamed casting alley due to frequent fashion and film shootings. The school neighbourhood has over 40 bars, stores, a yoga and dance studio and the Kulturbrauerei, a brewery turned entertainment complex housing cinemas, theaters and cafes.

The spacious school facility is situated on a tree-lined campus, divided between two buildings, boasting a large garden with a cafeteria serving snacks, sandwiches and more. In the summer the terrace is a perfect place for barbecues or socializing after classes.

Host Family: (private room, 2 meals daily)
Living with a local host family is the most effective way to become fully immersed in the language and culture. All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. We choose only quality families who have a genuine interest in international exchange. Many families live near the school, however, as Berlin is a large city, the commute can be up to 50 minutes.

Apartment Share: (private room, no meals)
You have a single room in an apartment you share with one or more Germans and prepare your own meals. Your roommates will be between 20 - 50 years old, university students or professionals. Often you develop close contacts with the Germans in your apartment. This is great for practicing your German. Apartments are also located up to 50 minutes away from the school.

School residence: (private room, breakfast daily)
Our school offers 50 self-contained residence rooms located right on the school campus. Rooms are two story lofts with living space on the 1st floor and bedroom on the 2nd. They come equipped with a small kitchen, private bath, internet access, phone and TV. Linens and towels are provided. Breakfast is served daily in the school cafeteria.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"My accommodations could not have been better. The room and apartment were wonderful, and the woman I was living with could not have been sweeter or friendlier.

I felt very lucky to have been placed there, and I have no doubt that the interaction between me and my host aided in my language accquisition ten fold. The location of the appartment was also very good. It was a little out of the way, but I really enjoyed Berlin's public transportation, so it was no problem at all.

My experience abroad is one I shall never forget. My language skills improved more than I could have hoped for, and Berlin was by far the most interesting and unique city I've yet to visit.

I encourage everyone to spend some time abroad, to see the other ways people live, and to experience a new culture -- even if only for a short time. It's something I feel is a very important in life.

Languages Abroad was very helpful in organizing and preparing me for my trip. Everything was done in an efficient and helpful manner, and all of my e-mails were quickley responded to. Go for it!"
Daniel Z. (age 20)

"Languages Abroad's involvement was always very professional and very helpful. The info provided was very informative and clear. Pre-departure info and support was also helpful.

I stayed on campus in an individual unshared apartment. My accommodations were excellent and worth every penny, as a base to explore Berlin and Germany. The students with whom I studied spoke very positively regarding their host families. The school’s location is excellent - central to downtown - and the public transportation is extremely conventient."
Peter (Age 63)
