Discover the legendary vineyards of Bordeaux, breathtaking scenery and the rich historical towns of the Bordeaux countryside.
If Bordeaux owes its world-renowned name to its famous vineyards, it is its history, so intimately linked to its river, that today invites the visitor to discover its extraordinary heritage.
Watch the cruise ships moor in the very heart of the city, the Port de la Lune (Port of the Moon) that has welcomed ships from around the world since antiquity.
Since the 18th century, the city of Bordeaux has assumed a majestic air and prided itself on an elegance which it has never lost. Rich in history, culture, arts and music, Bordeaux is not only the wine capital of the world, but also a vibrant center of trade, industry and business.
In the school vicinity, there are many high quality restaurants offering set lunch menus, and you will also find a wide range of cafes, fast food restaurants, bars, shops, bakeries and beautiful mature parks.
The friendly teachers offer personalized attention, are highly qualified and are trained in dynamic teaching methods. The school is recognized by the Rectorate of Bordeaux and is also a member SOUFFLE (the only organization for French language schools and universities in France for setting and maintaining standards).
All the teachers are qualified to teach French to foreign students (Diplôme de Français Langue Etrangère), have an excellent knowledge of French culture and many have lived and taught French abroad and speak several languages.
Much of the training material is specific FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) teaching methods and the school produces the rest. Students can either borrow or purchase the textbook you require in class.
Each student will be provided with a complete "Welcome Pack" upon arrival including: course schedule, course work, details concerning the cultural activities, a map of Bordeaux and a practical guide of Bordeaux, which provides names & addresses of banks, post offices, restaurants, cinemas, sport facilities, etc.
As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 5 to 20 minutes away. Students staying with a host family will be met by a member of the family at the local airport or train station, upon arrival.

"It was a great experience.
You get to fully experience the culture by living with a family and improve your language of study by talking with your host family. Also, by the end of the program you've made great friends from many different countries. Activities & trips to the vineyards, movies, walking tours, international food night, and a wine tasting course."

The distance to school was walkable, and there was easy access to city buses. Because I was gone most of the day, I did not interact extensively with my host family. They were friendly and interested in conversing, and otherwise let the students be.
The staff at the school in Bordeaux is friendly, helpful, and encouraging to all students. There is a good balance between time for study and time for cultural experiences. The workshop for teachers provided an excellent opportunity to network. The school location is convenient to the center of town - plenty of places near to have a great lunch.
The classrooms we used were very comfortable, and our instructor was extremely knowledgeable. She also had a talent for making sure that everyone was participating actively in the class discussions. The rest of the staff was kind and supportive.
My class of teachers had a great ambiance, but we did not mix very much with the other classes, probably because of the difference in linguistic ability."
