WHAT WE LIKE - Key features of this program
Capo Vaticano is a picturesque Mediterranean coastal village, classes held outside, very informal, walking distance to beach, easy to mix with the locals, old historical towns & villages populate the sdurrounding foothills, laid back cafes and a beautiful climate......one of our own personal favourites!
Surrounded yourself with postcard perfect views!

Enjoy an Italian language course in Italy at our language school in the city of Capo Vaticano.

This is truely a unique place to live, learn and study Italian! Located on the outskirts of a small village in Calabria, you can study Italian in an old rustic estate, surrounded by overgrown gardens with orange groves, lemon trees, grapevines, fig trees all within a 10 minutewalk to the beach.

To visit Calabria, is to rediscover the enchantment and the quiet atmosphere of the age-old historical towns and villages that populate the foothills, the windows of the mountain cottages that overlook the sea, the flavors of a full-bodied genuine Italian gastronomy.

The region of Calabria in Southern Italy is generally thought of as a Maritime region, a long peninsula with some 800-km of coastline, with sandy beaches, coves and is practically all-mountainous. Its ancient history dates back to the very roots of Mediterranean and European civilizations and is a land of traditions.

Capo Vaticano, the last strip of land before the Straits of Messina, thrusts dramatically from the sea, its white rocks battered and eroded by centuries of breakers that have taught sailors to respect and fear this fascinating, almost mysterious place. Life in this village is dominated by fishing, swordfish, tuna etc.

We also offer a "Split City" option with our Florence & Rome programs, which offers the student the opportunity to visit and study in both cities. This is extremely flexible and also allows the student the opportunity to sample the cultural city and the rustic south coast of Italy.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
Our charming small school building has a TV/video room, small outside enclosed kitchenette, outside patio and terraces, internet access and surrounded by beautiful mature gardens.

Our unique school, which is located on the outskirts of the small village of Santa Domenica, is the only one of its kind in the entire region and for this reason we have gained quite an excellent reputation. The relaxing environment and charming local town are conducive to learning Italian.

You are surrounded by postcard perfect views and beautiful beaches are only a 10-minute walk away. It is no surprise that many of our students visit a second, third or fourth time.

The school building is nestled in the center of an old rustic estate, surrounded by overgrown gardens with orange groves, lemon trees, grapevines and fig trees. Located in the grounds are idyllic bungalows with small outside terraces, which are used as guest apartments.

The local village offers all the facilities you will need, including Café’s, restaurants, shops, pharmacy, post office and Internet café. Other activities include trips to other local villages and the town of Tropea which is only 3km from the village.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"My location was exactly what I hoped for!

The room was not fancy, but was comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities I needed. Oh, and being able to walk out of your room in the morning and pick an orange right off the tree for breakfast never hurts.

Capo Vaticano is the perfect place to study Italian. The area is very low-key, and being surrounded by European students made it even easier to immerse myself in a different world. I picked up enough from just a couple of weeks that I was able to go through all of Italy without any hitches. The other students were very friendly."
Gabriel (age 29)

"This trip was quite possibly the most life-changing trip I have ever been on.

The people in this part of Italy are extremely warm and welcoming, not to mention the immediate feeling of family at the school in Santa Domenica. The language course is top notch, and the beaches are absolutely incredible: clear, blue, and calm.

If anyone would like to be immersed in Italian while living in a Mediterranean paradise, come to Capo Vaticano!"
Michael (age 21)
