Italian language immersion![]() in rusticCapo Vaticano
Enjoy an Italian language course in Italy at our language school in the city of Capo Vaticano.
This is truly a unique place to live, learn and study Italian! Located on the outskirts of a small village in Calabria, in Southern Italy, you can study Italian in an old rustic estate, surrounded by overgrown gardens with orange groves, lemon trees, grapevines, all a 10-minute walk to the beach. Discover the enchantment of the age-old historical villages that populate the foothills, the windows of the mountain cottages overlooking the sea and the flavors of genuine Italian gastronomy.
This Maritime region is a long peninsula with 800-km of coastline, sandy beaches, coves and mountainous terrain. Its ancient history dates back to the very roots of Mediterranean and European civilizations and is a land of traditions. Many aspects of daily life are based around this village's roots as a fishing community.
We also offer a "Split City" option with our Florence & Rome programs, which offers the student the opportunity to visit and study in both cities. This is extremely flexible and also allows the student the opportunity to sample the cultural city and the rustic south coast of Italy.
Our unique school, which is located on the outskirts of the small village of Santa Domenica, is the only one of its kind in the entire region! The relaxing environment and local charm are conducive to picking up the language quickly. Postcard perfect views and beautiful beaches make this school possibly our most stunning location. Café's, restaurants, shops, pharmacy, post office, Internet café and all amenities are nearby.
The school building is nestled in the center of an old rustic estate, surrounded by overgrown gardens, orange groves, lemon trees, fig trees and grapevines. Idyllic bungalows with small terraces are close by and used as guest apartments.
All students take a short test on the first day to ensure accurate placement. Teachers are native speakers and many are university educated with years of teaching experience. Our program is open to all language levels with strong emphasis on oral communication. In addition to standard materials, teachers may use audio / video equipment, songs and local newspapers to help students learn and make the class more interesting.
Apartments are located about 5 - 20 minutes from the school and are shared with other students. Apartments are co-ed, however, bedrooms are same-gender. The apartments include a well-equipped kitchen, shared bathroom and living areas. They vary in location, size and number of bedrooms, but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students. Apartments do not have AC and will be cleaned once a week. Laundry is not available in the apartments, but there is a Laundromat nearby.
NOTE: Comfort apartments (Apt 2) normally offer a larger space, better furnishings and / or amenities, superior location (overlooking the beach) and may included TV/ balcony etc.

"My location was exactly what I hoped for!
The room was not fancy, but was comfortable, clean, and had all the amenities I needed. Oh, and being able to walk out of your room in the morning and pick an orange right off the tree for breakfast never hurts.
Capo Vaticano is the perfect place to study Italian. The area is very low-key, and being surrounded by European students made it even easier to immerse myself in a different world. I picked up enough from just a couple of weeks that I was able to go through all of Italy without any hitches. The other students were very friendly."

The people in this part of Italy are extremely warm and welcoming, not to mention the immediate feeling of family at the school in Santa Domenica. The language course is top notch, and the beaches are absolutely incredible: clear, blue, and calm.
If anyone would like to be immersed in Italian while living in a Mediterranean paradise, come to Capo Vaticano!"

The beach is 10 minutes away and truly breathtaking. The staff and teachers were fun, approachable and competent. I would recommend this school without reservation. Thanks again!"
Most students fly into one of the major International Italian airports (ROMA) and then make their way across country to Tropea by train. The school is only 5 km from Tropea train station.
