SUMMER PROGRAM ONLY!

Enjoy a Croatian language course in Croatia at our language school in the city of Dubrovnik.

The old Mediterranean City of Dubrovnik is situated in the very south of the Republic of Croatia. With a population of nearly 60,000 inhabits, Dubrovnik is rich in cultural and historical monuments and is included in the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The Placa, Dubrovnik's wonderful pedestrian promenade, runs from the city bus stop outside Pile Gate to the clock tower at the other end of town. Dubrovnik is as lively and fun as any other major European city. Young people will enjoy the bustling nightlife, shopping and café culture.

You might be surprised at how stunning and exotic Croatia can be! Located on the coast, there is a wealth of contrast with small bays, incredible beaches, steep cliffs and densely wooded islands. There is a rich variety of flora including groves of cypress, pine, olive, palms, agava, cactus as well as vineyards and lemon and orange plantations - together they create an unique atmosphere.

Dubrovnik's Mediterranean location creates a cool coastal culture. Fresh, delicious seafood, boat tours and island hopping can all be enjoyed.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
Beautiful old building with fully air-conditioned large classrooms (a rare thing in Croatia!), lecture rooms and a nice library with audio and video materials.

Our Dubrovnik summer school is located in a charming old building, close to the historic heart of Dubrovnik.

The building has recently undergone a complete renovation and offers excellent facilities including large fully air-conditioned classrooms.

The school is only 5 minutes walking distance from the west entrance of the old city and close to the beach, harbor, cafes, bars, shops and all other facilities.

All of our teachers are native Croatian speakers and hold a university degree in Teaching Croatian as a Foreign Language. The school students come from a wide variety of fascinating nations such as Argentina, USA, Brazil, Canada, Australia, Poland, Germany and Turkey. Many of them have Croatian family heritage as well. Our students feel comfortable and at home hanging out with each other during and outside of classes, and often remark that the people they met on the program are what made their experience so outstanding.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"I had the time of my life! The school was hard but also a lot of fun! The teachers was very helpful and caring. This is defiantly something I recommend!

I lived with an old lady, it was absolutely the best choose! Croatians are very kind and generous and she took really good care of me + that I got to practice my speaking skills everyday with her since she could not speak English. Terrific! It was not to serious and not to easy, after all this was a volunteer education. But if you were eager to learn, the teachers did everything they could for you!"

"Course was fantastic.

Half a day of classes was perfect to take in all the sites of Dubrovnik also. Staff are very pleasant and helpful however more communication about accommodation would have been nice. Accommodation was quite expensive but I understand the prices were set by the school and not Languages Abroad.

General Impression: Great location, relaxed and friendly atmosphere. I met a great group of people and would definatley go again."
Adriana S. (age 29)

"The summer program in Dubrovnik was wonderful. Our teacher was amazingly patient and encouraging with our attempts to learn Croatian.

Services provided by Languages Abroad - besides the registration part, I didn't really have much contact with the services. But the short time that I did, I found everyone to be extrodinarly helpful and professional.

Our teacher was wonderful. It was a little difficult to bring in students halfway through the program as it trough off the flow of the class and I don't think that all of the students were placed in the appropriate level.

Future Advice: It will be great, just do it!
