An absolutely breathtaking city, Florence has so much to offer students looking to learn Italian language, culture and history. Few can dismiss the image of Brunelleschi's terracotta cathedral dome bursting through the morning mist, above the medieval rooftops.

Located inland in northern Italy, Florence boasts a proud art history surpassed by none other in Europe. UNESCO estimates that 60% of the world's most important artworks are in Italy, with over half of them located in Florence. The city's many galleries, markets and nightlife all contribute to making it a fantastic base for any student.

We offer a "SPLIT CITY" option with Rome or Capo Vaticano, which allows the student to combine different locations.

Our school, which is one of the most respected in Florence, is ideally situated in a clean, safe corner of Florence, just a 5 minute walk from the main train station and 10 minute walk to the cathedral square and the heart of the city.

The school is located on the 6th and 7th floors of a typical style building, with amazing views of Florence! Most classrooms have large windows opening on to wide terraces, which overlook the city. The large rooftop terrace, where classes may be held in summer, is a favorite place for students to hang out. The school is very bright with a warm and friendly atmosphere.

All students take a short test on the first day to ensure accurate placement. Teachers are native speakers and many are university educated with years of teaching experience. Our program is open to all language levels with strong emphasis on oral communication. In addition to standard materials, teachers may use audio / video equipment, songs and local newspapers to help students learn and make the class more interesting.

After class is over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture, traditions and everyday life.

Social activities & attractions in Florence

Weekend excursions could include: Rome (the capital), Pisa (the leaning tower - famous landmark), nearby coastal villages and beaches, other Tuscan villages, such as Volterra, the lush olive groves of Fiesole and the medieval city of Siena.

Host Family: (private or shared room) 2 meals daily
Living with a local host family is the most effective way to become fully immersed in the language and culture. All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. We choose only quality families who have a genuine interest in international exchange. Many families live near the school and the commute is usually no more than 20-30 minutes.

Self Catering Apartments: (private or shared room) no meals. Choice of Basic (Apt 1) or Comfort (Apt 2).
Apartments are located about 20-30 minutes from the school and are shared with other students. Apartments are co-ed, however, bedrooms are same-gender. The apartments include a well-equipped kitchen, shared bathroom and living areas. They vary in location, size and number of bedrooms, but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students. Apartments do not have AC but do have fans and will be cleaned once a week. Laundry is not available in the apartments, but there is a Laundromat nearby.

NOTE: Comfort apartments (Apt 2) normally offer a larger space, better furnishings and / or amenities, superior location and may included TV/ balcony etc.
