Japanese language immersion![]() inKanazawa, Japan
Enjoy a Japanese language course in Japan at our language school in the city of Kanazawa.
Kanazawa is located on Honshu, Japan's Main Island, and lies on the coast between the mountains and the sea. The city was built in the 15th century and was the richest walled city in Japan during the Edo period.
It boasts many historic places: the splendid Kenrokuen, (1 of the 3 most beautiful gardens in Japan), and lshikawa-mon, the commanding gate to the old castle grounds. Kanazawa is in central Japan, and it is a great base from which to visit countless other cities such as Tokyo, Kyoto and Nagano. Its smaller size makes it ideal for soaking up the language.
Studying here is a very different experience than being in Tokyo, Osaka or large Japanese cities...
Our school is located right in the heart of the city center and is a short walk to the main train station and the Yokoyasue-Cho shopping area. The main street and Omicho Market are only 3 blocks away and most places of interest, including parks, museums, and historic buildings are walking distance or a short bus ride away.
The school is located in the modern International Exchange Center which is an architecturally attractive building with a public library, convenience store, and large a bookstore.
This is one of the most professional Japanese languages schools in all of Japan! Teachers are native speakers and many are University educated with years of teaching experience. Programs are designed for all levels of the language and a lot emphasis is placed upon the speaking ability of the student.
Our optional cultural and social activities could include: Tea ceremony, Kimono dressing, Martial Arts demo, Calligraphy or Origami lessons, Cooking classes, walking tours of Kenrokuen Gardens, visits to Onsen (hot springs), Zen Buddhist Temples, Ryokan (traditional Inn) Sake Brewery and the Noh Theater and much more!
A great way to soak up the culture! All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. Many families live near the school and the commute is usually no more than 10-30 minutes. At least one person in the family /neighborhood will speak basic English. The lifestyle in a Japanese home can be a mixture of traditional / western styles. Futon beds, Tatami mats and western beds / chairs often times coexist under the same roof. In most families the bath will be Japanese style (the body is washed before entering the tub).
