Enjoy a French language course in Switzerland at our language school in the city of Lausanne.

Lausanne is a truly elegant city, surrounded by Lake Geneva, vineyards, and the Swiss Alps. Its hillside setting on the lake facing the Alps is truly spectacular. Its old quarter, "La Cité," has an impressive medieval cathedral.

It is also a vibrant University town with one of the country's largest university campuses. Lausanne is home to the Olympic Committee headquarters, and a fascinating Olympic Museum. A very green city, Lausanne boasts many parks and gardens. Ouchy is the city's beautiful marina, which has excellent restaurants and fantastic yachts. The best beach is Vidy, which offers bike / skate rentals.

Lausanne has more to offer young people than most Swiss cities: nightlife, bars, bistros, discos. In summer, Lausanne has an outdoor feel with many street parties, festivals, and pedestrian-only areas.

Our school is located in downtown Lausanne, within walking distance of spacious parks, outdoor cafés, shops, museums, bookshops and luxury stores. It is the perfect area for strolling around on your own or exploring with new international friends.

Housed in a modern building, our school offers excellent facilities including well-equipped classrooms and social areas, fitness club, large outdoor patio and a self-tutoring center.

PROGRAM BASICS - Open to all levels, for any duration - Start dates every Monday (set dates for beginners) - Max. 13 students per class

Standard: (20 lessons per week)
Intensive: (25 lessons per week)

In additional to classes students have access to Self study in the multimedia learning center which includes resources such as audio, video and computer assisted language learning.

Every week, the students take a Communicative Abilities test which is basically a longer communication activity, where the teacher assesses students' strengths / weaknesses. In addition, students will take an "exit-exam" with a detailed set of criteria to evaluate the language level achieved.

After class is over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture, traditions and everyday life.

Examples of typical cultural opportunities: sports such as sailing on Lake Geneva in the summer or skiing in the winter at nearby resorts, guided tour of Lausanne, Fondue parties, movie night, museum visits (i.e. Olympic Museum), Lausanne's magnificent 12th century cathedral, walk along Lake Léman (Lake Geneva) to Pully or in the opposite direction to St. Sulpice.

At the weekend many students can arrange to take optional excursions to local cities or local places of interest. Trips could include: Boat trips on Lake Geneva, i.e. Evian (France), discover Avenches, a former Roman city, stroll along the shores of lake Murten and Lake Neuchâtel, visit the towns of Zermatt, Vevey and a visit to the Nestlé museum, Geneva, Zurich, Lucerne, Berne or Interlaken.

Host Family: (private or shared room) 2 meals daily
Living with a local host family is the most effective way to become fully immersed in the language and culture. All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. We choose only quality families who have a genuine interest in international exchange. Many families live near the school and the commute is usually no more than 20-30 minutes.
