Spanish language immersion

in

Madrid, Spain

WHAT WE LIKE about this program
- Fantastic city in central Spain, so much to see and do!
- Lots of organized social and cultural activities
- Classrooms have AC, comfortable in summer

Enjoy a Spanish language course in Spain at our language school in the city of Madrid.

In the center of Spain, surrounded by the arid 'mesta', Madrid exudes all the bravado of a capital city. Everything you might want to see is close by, via a leisurely walk or quick subway or taxi ride. You will find the locals "Madrileños" are gregarious! Animated discussion and dancing enliven the city's cafés, taverns, bars, and open squares all night long.

Locals often munch on tapas and postpone dinner until 11:00 p.m. then hit a wonderful play at Plaza Santa Ana, or a Flamenco show at one of Madrid's many clubs, or enjoy the dance scene of La Latinaor.

We also offer a "SPLIT CITY" option with MALAGA or BARCELONA, students can combine different locations!

SCHOOL FACILITIES
- Central location in historic part of city, VERY close to metro
- 2 large terraces overlooking the city
- 8 spacious, bright classrooms with AC
- Free internet for students

Our very popular Madrid school could not be more centrally located, in the historical part of Madrid. The is a very fashionable and affluent quarter, only 2 minutes from the Portra Del Sol and one minute from Palacio Real. Public transport ("Sol" metro station and bus station) is only a few steps away! Because of the central location, all facilities are within walking distance, including boutiques, dept. stores, cafes, banks, bars, etc.

Located on the 6th floor (with elevator access) of a beautiful turn-of-the-century "Historical Listed" building, the school offers great views across the rooftops of the city, including the Opera hall.

Host Family: (private room only, 1 or 2 meals daily)
Living with a local host family is the most effective way to become fully immersed in the language and culture. All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. We choose only quality families who have a genuine interest in international exchange. Many families live near the school and the commute is usually no more than 15-35 minutes.

Self Catering Apartments: (private or shared room)
Apartments are also located about 15-35 minutes away from the school and are shared with other international students. Apartments are co-ed, however, bedrooms are same-gender. The apartments always include a well-equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom and living areas. The apartments vary in location, size and number of bedrooms, but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.

Note: Some of our apartments are on-campus, in the school building. If you would like this option, please request at the time of enrollment, as availability is limited.

STUDENT FEEDBACK
"It was fabulous!

I learned so much...not only about the Spanish language and culture, but about myself as well! I had the time of my life. The teachers were great, the school was great! I just wish I would have gone for more than two weeks!"
Nicole K. (27)

"Traveling and studying abroad has been the experience of a lifetime.

I would most certainly recommend the adventure to anyone and everyone who has ever dreamed about learning more about the greatly diverse world that we all live in. The staff of Languages Abroad at every step of the way was more than helpfull to me and my family. I was especially impressed with their initiative to assist me in any question of concern that I had. During my trip I even recieved e-mails from the staff checking in to make sure that everything was okay. That kind of service, assistance and kindness means so much.

The school was fantastic and I have trouble coming up with anything that I would suggest as a modification to the program. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the school and yet the ability to make all students feel welcome as well as comfortable study and practice speaking a foreign language.

Languages Abroad is a great program to be involved in. They did all the hard work for me so that a study abroad trip was possible and for my experiences abroad I know more about the world that I live in, more about myself and as an individual and I feel a tremendeous motivation of accomplishment for all that I experienced. Thank you Languages Abroad for helping me all along the way."

"I felt very welcome and involved with my host family. I usually spent several hours each weekday evening with them, including dinner, and in spite of my limited language abilities, they made a great deal of effort to include me in conversations."
