WHAT WE LIKE - Key features of this program
Center of Spain - the capital, a large bustling city with so much to see & do, hot during the summer with a great nightlife. The school location could not be more centrally located, in the historic part. The staff are great, views from the terrace are fantstic, classrooms have AC. This will always remain one of our firm favourites for learning Spainish!

Enjoy a Spanish language course in Spain at our language school in the city of Madrid.

In the very center of Spain, surrounded by the arid 'mesta', Madrid is the highest capital in Europe.

Madrid exudes all the bravado of a capital city. Cars and buses jam the city's streets, yet the commute proceeds with order, speed, and efficiency Everything you might want to see is close by, via a leisurely walk, a quick subway trip, or an inexpensive taxi ride.

You will find the locals "Madrileños" are gregarious! Animated discussion and dancing enliven the city's cafés, taverns, bars, and open squares until the early hours of the morning.

Locals often munch on tapas and postpone dinner until 11:00 p.m. Then follow the crowds to a wonderful play at Plaza Santa Ana, shake to the dance scene of La Latinaor or take in a show at Madrid's top flamenco clubs near Plaza Tirso de Molina. Madrid is a fascinating place to learn Spanish!

We also offer a "SPLIT CITY" option with our MALAGA, MALLORCA or BARCELONA Spanish language programs, which offers the student the opportunity to visit and study in other cities. This is extremely flexible and allows the opportunity to sample other sites, and accents, you can choose where and for how long.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
8 spacious and bright class rooms with AC, 2 large terraces which over look the city, reception area, small library, snack bar which also serves refreshments, video room and students have access to a free internet service between breaks. The school holds a maximum of 65 students.

Our very popular Madrid school could not be more centrally located, in the historical part of Madrid. The area of the city is a very fashionable and affluent quarter, only 2 minutes from the Portra Del Sol and one minute from Palacio Real.

Located on the sixth floor (with elevator access), in a beautiful turn of the century "Historical Listed " old building, the school offers great views across the roof tops of the city, including the Opera hall.

Public transport could not be easier, the "Sol" metro station and bus station are only a few steps away. Because of the central location, all facilities are within walking distance, including all types of boutique shops, dept. stores, cafes, banks, bars, etc.

Host Family: (private room) breakfast or 2 meals daily
Living with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country.

All families are chosen in Madrid after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 15 to 35 minutes away.

Self Catering Apartments: (private or shared room)
This is also a very popular option especially for those students looking for further independence. Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as the host families and are shared (with other international students studying at the school) so will be sharing with many other nationalities. Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender.

All apartments provide a well equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom facilities and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location in the city but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.

Note: We offer a limited number of beds in our self catering aprtment, which is also located in our school building. If you would like this option, please request this upon enrolling.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"It was fabulous!

I learned so much...not only about the Spanish language and culture, but about myself as well! I had the time of my life. The teachers were great, the school was great! I just wish I would have gone for more than two weeks!"
Nicole K. (27)

"Traveling and studying abroad has been the experience of a lifetime.

I would most certainly recommend the adventure to anyone and everyone who has ever dreamed about learning more about the greatly diverse world that we all live in. The staff of Languages Abroad at every step of the way was more than helpfull to me and my family. I was especially impressed with their initiative to assist me in any question of concern that I had. During my trip I even recieved e-mails from the staff checking in to make sure that everything was okay. That kind of service, assistance and kindness means so much.

The school was fantastic and I have trouble coming up with anything that I would suggest as a modification to the program. I was very impressed with the professionalism of the school and yet the ability to make all students feel welcome as well as comfortable study and practice speaking a foreign language.

Languages Abroad is a great program to be involved in. They did all the hard work for me so that a study abroad trip was possible and for my experiences abroad I know more about the world that I live in, more about myself and as an individual and I feel a tremendeous motivation of accomplishment for all that I experienced. Thank you Languages Abroad for helping me all along the way."

"I felt very welcome and involved with my host family. I usually spent several hours each weekday evening with them, including dinner, and in spite of my limited language abilities, they made a great deal of effort to include me in conversations."
