Enjoy a French language course in France at our language school in the city of Montpellier.

Montpellier, located on the south coast of France, is the capital of the Languedoc - Roussillion region. For over a thousand years, this energetic city has been a center for trade, and even today vies with Toulouse for the title of most dynamic city in the south.

It is also home to one of the largest and best known Universities in France. Founded in the thirteenth century, it is most famous for its medical school and its 60,000 students - the average age of whose residents is said to be just 25. Montpellier's youthful population ensures an energetic bar and nightclub scene.

Montpellier offers a beautiful historic center, full of charm with narrow picturesque streets, elegant private mansions dating back to the 16th century and teeming with life, except in July and August when the students from the university are on holiday.

Located in the heart of Montpellier's historic center our school is housed in a charming private mansion which dates back to the 18th century. Just opposite the impressive Chamber of Commerce in one of Montpellier's most attractive pedestrian shopping streets.

From here it is only a short walk to the open green space of the 'Jardin du Champs de Mars' and only a few yards to the famous 'Place de la Comédie', Montpellier's main square. This lively square offers a wide choice of cafés and sunny terraces, where our students enjoy a coffee together after classes.

THE BASICS Course for all language levels - set dates for beginners - use of course materials - each student will be expected to take a short placement test on the first Monday morning - lessons are usually held in the mornings starting 09:00am each day - min age 18 - Max. 10 students per class - unlimited course length.

Standard: (20 lessons per week)
Intensive: (30 lessons per week)
Combined: (20 group lessons + 6 private per week)

Teachers hold a special degree in teaching French as a foreign language and their experience, and dynamic stimulating way of teaching in connection with the interactive method will enable you to progress quickly.

Self study in the computer learning center is available for all students and there are learning resources of all kinds: audio, video, computer assisted language learning. These elements are all available for students to work independently.

Our pragmatic and effective method provides you with all necessary language skills and cultural awareness enabling you to communicate in French. We emphasize oral communication of the modern French language without neglecting the written aspects. Our teachers, who use a wide variety of authentic documents obtained from newspapers, TV news and documentaries as well as radio, involve all our students actively in the classroom.

After classes are over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to immerse themselves completely in the life of the town.

Optional cultural and social activities could include: guided tours of the historic center of Montpellier, visits to museums and theaters, restaurant visits with your teacher, picnics, tour Cathedral St Pierre, the historic Opéra and Musée Fabré.

At the weekendstudents can arrange to take optional excursions: to Arles, one of the most beautiful cities of Provence, Uzes a city of arts, Avignon, Nimes, the Camargue and the Provence or stay in the city enjoy the energetic bar and nightclub scene, nice climate and beaches!

Host Family: (private room - 2 meals daily)
Living with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country. All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 10 to 30 minutes away.

Student Residence:(private room - no meals)
We offer fully equipped studios in local residence which is located within 5 minutes walking distance of the school, the residence sharedwith both international and french students who are visiting or studying at a local university.

Students can stay in a private bedroom approx. (18m2.) in size with private bathroom, cooking facilities, towels, linen and sheets are also provided and cleaned every 15 days. Students should note that the residence will be busy and can be noisy as most people staying at this option are younger students, however there is a night guardian who ensures that after 11:00pm the noise level is kept to a minimum.

Self Catering Apartments: (private room - no meals).
Our school can also request rooms at a local aparthotel, the price is higher than the other above options and is preferred by more mature students. This option is upon request only and space maybe limited, please contact us for more details.
