WHAT WE LIKE - Key features of this program
Montreal offers a taste of European tradition in North America. Old Montreal offers cobblestone streets & centuries-old buildings with charming boutiques, bars and restaurants. The nightlife is legendary and the city offers many festivals & events all year round. We offer both English and French courses in Montreal.

Enjoy a French language course in Canada at our language school in the city of Montreal.

The second-largest French-speaking city in the world, Montreal carries on the European tradition of keeping culture within the reach of the people.

The nightlife is legendary and a short walk out of a bustling downtown takes visitors back in time to the cobblestone streets, churches and centuries-old buildings of Old Montreal.

Downtown lies between the mountain and Old Montreal, which was the heart of the city until the end of the nineteenth century. Today, its charming buildings are filled with boutiques, bars and restaurants, and visitor’s and locals promenade along the adjacent Old Port.

SCHOOL FACILITIES

Our school is located in the heart of Montréal, on Ste-Catherine Street which is Montreal's indisputable main street. It offers great shopping, nightlife, bars, restraurants, deli's -it is a twenty-four hour street that is constantly active.

The 3 major universities representing a total of roughly 90,000 students are located on or adjacent to Ste-Catherine Street: Concordia, McGill and the Université du Québec à Montréal.

Housed in a modern five storey building, overlooking a glass-roofed courtyard of a popular shopping mall, it has all the modern facilities of a large international school. It is also located only two blocks from a subway line, making it easy for students to get around the city and experience life in this bilingual city.

Teachers are native speakers and many are University educated with years of teaching experience. They will help enhance your speaking, listening, grammar and general comprehension skills.

They will also use interactive techniques such as role-play, games and perhaps videos to support lesson content. Current political, social and cultural materials are integrated to add interest and increase knowledge of the host country and culture. Homework assignments are given and students will be tested.

The school employs a full-time Co-ordinator of Student Activities who organizes a variety of cultural, social, and sporting activities outside of class hours.

Activities range from: playing sports together, going to a movie, visiting museums, art galleries and local festivals, tour Notre-Dame Basilica, walk the Old Port, the Biodôme, and enjoy a host of world-class restaurants

In the summer: the city offers many festivals (free admission)which keeps the streets filled with music, laughter and creativity. Every summer for 11 days, Montreal hosts the world's largest jazz festival, with 400 concerts and the biggest stars of the international jazz community.

At the weekend students can arrange optional excursions to local cities or local places of interest: the Eastern Townships lie 80km to the east of Montreal, on the border with New England. Some of the province's most picturesque countryside is here, dotted with nineteenth-century villages settled by Loyalists from the United States who refused to rebel against King George III. Quebec city is also a popular excursion, only 2 hours by bus or train.

In the winter: cross-country skiing & downhill skiing are all possible in the Laurentians, to the north of Montreal which is a major North American skiing center and a popular spot for hiking and cycling.

Host Family: (private room - 2 meals daily)

Living with a host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country.

All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 10 to 30 minutes away.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"Montreal is a good learning environment. The teachers are warm and friendly and classes give you the opportunity to associate and learn with your classmates.

The “French only” push in the school and class is a little overwhelming to begin with but then becomes very helpful and accompanies your learning."
Philip L. (age 28)

I dealt with Michelle from Toronto and she always answered my emails very promptly. I am extremely impressed with your service. It took me a few days to settle in but once I did, I really enjoyed it. I am a teacher and I was very impressed with their level of professionalism ,knowledge of materials and teaching ability.

Future Advice: Don't hesitate... just do it!!!"
