Host Family (private or shared rooms - 2 meals daily)

The vast majority of our students choose to stay with a host family. It is unquestionably the most effective way to really plunge yourself into French-speaking culture and to make rapid progress. There's no doubt that students who choose to live with a French-speaking family assimilate the language much more rapidly.

Daily contact with the family enables you to practise the language constantly, as well as to explore the mentality, expressions and customs of the French-speaking Swiss people in a pleasant and friendly setting.

Self Catering Apartments (private or shared room) no meals.

This is also a very popular option especially for those students looking for further independence. Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as the host families and are shared (with other international students studying at the school) so you will be sharing with many other nationalities. Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender.

STUDENT FEEDBACK

"I think that Languages Abroad has made good choices regarding the schools that they use.

My room in Montreux was perfect. It was convenient. I liked the family. My room in Bordeaux was not as convenient or comfortable. However, the hostess was very nice and friendly.

I was extremely impressed with the staff at Montreux. They did anything extra in order to be helpful.

It is best if you can organize activities in your free time by yourself. You can't always depend on the school to have everything organized for you."
Virginia R. (age 56)
