Russian language immersion![]() inMoscow, Russia
Enjoy a Russian language course in Russia at our language school in the city of Moscow.
Moscow is unlike any other city in the World! It is a symbol of Russian spiritual and political power dating back more than 850 years. Today the city is a barometer of the changes sweeping through Russia. Formerly referred to as the center of one of the world's superpowers, Moscow is still reeling from the rapid change that it has undergone. Nowhere other than in Moscow are Russia's contrasts more apparent: ancient monasteries and ultra-modern monoliths stand side by side. Moscow's energy lies within its many neighborhoods, each of which is unique and waiting to be discovered.
We also offer a "split city program" between:
Our school is centrally located and only a short walk from one of the main rail stations (Belorussian Station) and a metro station - just a 10 minute taxi ride to the Kremlin!
Our programs cater for all language levels from absolute beginners to the more advanced, include the use of course materials and provide a variety of options to enhance your program. Beginners must start on set start dates and have at least the knowledge of the cyrillic alphabet.
Each student will be expected to take a short placement test on the first Monday morning of the course (unless a complete beginner), to determine the students language level and ensure placement in the correct class.
Teachers are native speakers and many are university educated with years of teaching experience. They will help enhance your speaking, listening, grammar and general comprehension skills. They will also use interactive techniques such as role-play, games and perhaps videos to support lesson content. Current political, social and cultural materials are integrated
to add interest and increase knowledge of Russia
>>IMPORTANT VISA INFORMATION
For further information on obtaining a visa in the United States contact the consulate responsible for your state. In order to determine which U.S. consulate has jurisdiction in your state refer to www.russianembassy.org. Please allow ample time for the procedure of obtaining a visa.
After classes are over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture, traditions, customs and everyday life.
The Metro is a cheap and convenient means of travelling around the city and you will notice many stations are sumptuously decorated with marble, glittering chandeliers and works of art.
We usually select families without any foreign language knowledge (English speaking Russians are desperate
for some English conversation). However, if a participant feels uneasy about this approach, we will find them a host family where English is spoken. Our experience shows that even absolute beginners will be able to communicate after the first few days.
Our host families usually live not more than 40 minutes away by public transport. Students have access to all living areas in the house and in most cases, will be expected to share the bathroom. All bed linens and pillows will be provided, however we suggest you bring your own towels.
All apartments provide a well equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom facilities and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location in the city but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.

"I studied for one month in Moscow in the summer of 2005.
The school could not be more comforting, reassuring, and supportive. The staff, other students, and overall atmosphere was great! My host family was amazing. I still remain in close contact with them. We treat each other as if we are literally part of each other's families!
The family with which I lived was wonderful and I learned much about life in Russia. My host family was wonderful beyond belief; she went shopping with me one Saturday and even had a friend accompany me to a Russian orthodox church service when she worked too late to take me herself. When I left for the airport at 4:30 a.m., she and her son went with me, which helped a great deal as the taxi driver was headed to the wrong airport!
Future Advice: It is a chance of a lifetime to meet people and see other countries..and I am already planning my return trip."
