Some important factors to consider!

In the summer temperatures in other cities especially inland cities sour in to the high 90's and even sometimes reach as high as 114 degrees during heat waves. Rabat heat wave highs are 85-90 degrees at most!

Winters inland are also much more severe, averages are around 5-10 degrees cooler (temps in the 40s) which is VERY relevant in a country where there is no such thing as central heating. Remember most accommodations do not have heating or A/C. However our Rabat comfort apartment have both heat and air.

LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION: Rabat is central and easy to reach other cities are in the Moroccan interior and journeys are long to reach other cities after arriving!

However it is perfectly located to allow you to explore other great Moroccan cities at the weekends or after your program has finished. Casablanca and the Imperial Moroccan capitals of Meknes, Marrakech, and Fes are within easy reach by bus or train:

> Casablanca: 50 Minutes (train)
> Fes: 4 hrs (train) 2 hrs (car)
> Meknes: 2 hrs (car)
> Kenitra: 1 hr (train)
> Marrakech: 4 hrs (train)
> Tangiers: 2.5 hrs (car) 4 hrs (train)

Rabat is next to the ocean! Students can chill out during the hot summers on the beach in Rabat or reach weekend beach get aways within 30 minutes!

Rabat is on the main railway system making rail transport easy!

Many schools are located inside the cities Medina. Madinas are fun to visit, but can be a tiring place to live and study, the water can make you sick, the streets are narrow, dark and can be very dirty and very, very smelly!! Pickpocketing is very prevalent in many Medina's and after dark not the best place to be ESPECIALLY for foreign women traveling alone.

Our school is not located in a Median for these reasons, we are located in an upperclass and very safe neighborhood located close to most Embassies and foreign NGO's. You can walk the streets of Souissi (our neighborhood) with complete confidence whether day or night--woman or man. The streets are wide and clean and blooming with flower vines. The water won't harm you however the Median can be reached in about 15 minutes!

Finally our school building has the same or better amenities as most schools and we offer little touches that go along way when you are living in Morocco...
