WHAT WE LIKE - Key features of this program
North West of Madrid - This famous university city, UNESCO "Mankind Heritage" site, is home to the world’s second oldest university. Large , impressive school close to the famous Plaza Mayor, with 30 classrooms with good school & sport facilities.

Enjoy a Spanish language course in Spain at our language school in the city of Salamanca.

Located in the mid west of Spain (Castilla Leon region), the city is known as "La Dorada" (Golden City) because of the golden glow of its sandstone buildings. It is one of the 5 Spanish cities declared by UNESCO as a "Mankind Heritage" site.

Home to the world’s second oldest university, it boasts a student population averaging 30,000 (approximately 5,000 of which are foreigners) that provides a lively atmosphere and nightlife.

Innumerable historical celebrities, from Fray Luis de León, Nebrija to Miguel de Unamuno, have passed through the town, both in the university field and in the Arts field, leaving the mark of their knowledge on this beautiful city.

The city has much to offer in art and architecture, many styles have left their most worthy and exquisite mark on this town, especially the Spanish Plateresque style.

SCHOOL FACILITIES
30 spacious classrooms. The school building is 5000 sq. meters with a beautiful central patio and gardens where students can relax between class. There is Internet access, a student common area, library, TVs and audio-visual equipment.

Our school is located in one of the most popular areas of the city center just a few minutes walk from the famous Plaza Mayor and Cathedral.

The School itself is located in a beautiful, historical building which hosted for decades the concent of "Tesasianan" order.

The school building was actually the College of Medicine from the 16th century, until the religious sisterhood "Las Siervas de San Jose" established their own school in 1916.

Recently the school has been restored and this marvelous old charming building (recognized as a World Heritage Complex by UNESCO), with its central renaissance patio and 32 columns, is now our language school.

Host Family: (private room - 2 meals daily).
Living with a Spanish host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country.

All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 15 to 30 minutes away. Most homes have central heating, few have air conditioning, most use only fans.

Self Catering Apartments: (private or shared room - no meals).
This is also a very popular option especially for those students looking for further independence. Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as the host families (many are closer) and are shared (with other international students studying at the school). Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender.

All apartments provide a well-equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom facilities, and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location in the city but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.

It is the participant's responsibility to have a valid passport and any necessary visas and permits to study abroad. Visit G3Visas for comprehensive information on visa, passport, permit and general country entry requirements.

"I had an amazing time..although I didn't learn a lot from a written/grammatical standpoint, I definately gained the confidence to speak spanish and communicate without problems.

Services Provided: I have been to Spain a few times before, so I didn't really need the pre-departure info or anything, but for a first timer it seemed helpful.
General Impression: The school was ok...the teachers switched around quite a bit, and there were a couple who did not make the course very interesting...as a result, it was hard to become involved. However, the teachers who made an effort to liven things up were amazing and helped me learn a lot.
Future Advice: I would say definately go for it! Remember to keep an open mind and be prepared for anything! Also remember that it's about having fun and enjoying yourself as much as about learning...the more fun you have, the more you'll learn!"
Krista G. (age 25)

"Apartment and location was close and roommates were fun to meet. The school staff was also extremely helpful and pleasant. Do it, it is an experience of a lifetime".
John V. (age 23)

"I enjoyed the experience. The teachers are patient and very dedicated to teaching. The program was reasonably paced and promotes learning. The host family members were very supportive and tried hard to communicate with me, despite the fact that I did not speak Spanish well. They made me feel welcome and cared for. They were very nice and it was a great experience. The location was conventient and the instructors were excellent. They made the experience pleasurable."
Helen D. (age 49)
