Enjoy a Spanish language course in Spain at our language school in the city of San Sebastian.
The provincial capital of San Sebastián, situated very close to the French frontier (only 20 km),is one of the most fashionable and popular Spanish seaside resorts.
It is called officially Donostia-San Sebastián, in Basque is called Donostia, and in Spanish San Sebastián, although many just call it just Donosti.
The city, is perched on the glittering shores of the Cantabrian Sea and at the base of the majestic Pyrenees Mountains.
The city has much to offer apart from its great location by the sea, it has magnificent architecture, chic restaurants on tree- lined boulevards, boutiques, great shops, good nightlife and spectacular beaches.
Our school is centrally located in " El Barrio Gros" housed in a new modern building, only 10-15 minutes walk to the center of the city.
Close by is the Cristina Enea park, with lots of green space and many paths. The beach, shops and cafes are also within walking distance. San Sebastian's beaches are the perfect location for many water sports, including surfing.
Next door to the school is a modern Gym, our student card allows membership at discounted rates.
Students come from all over the world to study, especially from European countries. The average ages are between 20 - 35 and the school also teaches english to local spanish students, this allows the opportunity to meet and socialize with local students of the same age.
Teachers are native speakers and many are University educated with years of teaching experience. Spanish programs are designed for all levels of the language and a lot emphasis is placed upon the speaking ability of the student. In addition to the normal classes, audio and video equipment, songs and local Spanish newspapers are used to promote the many different ways the language can be used.
Specialized programs in San Sebastian:
After classes are over for the day, our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture and customs.
The Mundáiz Gym, next to the school, offers our students preferential rates. The Municipal Sports Council is very active, and if you become a member you can have access into the sport centers and take part in the courses that they organize.
As members of a traditional gastronomic society, we organize dinners prepared by volunteer students and our monitor.
Living with a Spanish host family is probably the best and most effective way to become fully immersed into the language and culture of your chosen country. All families are chosen after a careful selection procedure and are visited regularly by the school to ensure that high living standards are maintained. As many of our host families live in the surrounding neighborhoods, the trip to school, is usually not more than 10 to 20 minutes away.
Students have access to all living areas in the house and in most cases, will be expected to share the bathroom. All bed linens and pillows will be provided, however, we suggest you bring your own towels. A laundry service is provided.
This is also a very popular option especially for those students looking for further independence. Our apartments are normally located within the same distance as the host families (many are closer) and are shared (with other international students studying at the school). Our apartments are co-ed, however rooms are shared with the same gender.
All apartments provide a well-equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom facilities and living areas. The apartments vary in size and number of bedrooms, depending on the location in the city but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students. All apartments are self-catering, which means that meals are not included and students provide their own groceries and prepare their own meals or eat out.
