Our programs cater to all language levels from absolute beginners to advanced, and provide a variety of options to enhance your experience.

The school uses a variety of teaching methods, with emphasis on improving your communication skills. Students practice formal and informal letter writing, and work on listening and reading comprehension. Since every group is different, our staff approaches each group in a way that suites that particular group's needs.

The basic program provides intensive coaching in grammar, sentence structure and vocabulary. Reading and listening comprehension, as well as written exercises, are important components of our courses.

All teachers are native speakers of standard German, and they take genuine pleasure in working together with students.

After classes are over for the day our program allows you plenty of time to discover your new country, culture, traditions and everyday life.

Examples of typical cultural opportunities: city tour; movie night, dance lessons (Viennese Waltz); State Opera, Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Music Conservatory, Kunsthistorisches Museum, Stephansdom, sports activities and many more!

Weekend Excursions: optional excursions to other local cities could include Salzburg ("Mozart city"), Graz, Klosterneuburg (famous for its Babenberg heritage) and to the Wachau region of the Danube valley. Visit medieval castles, grottos and famous architectural monuments. In the summer there is the chance to go swimming at Lake Neusiedl and savour Austrian wine at a tavern ("Heuriger").

Host Family: (private room), 2 meals daily
Living with a local host family is the most effective way to become fully immersed in the language and culture. All families are carefully selected and visited regularly to ensure quality standards. We choose only quality families who have a genuine interest in international exchange. Many families live near the school and the commute is usually no more than 20-30 minutes.

Self Catering Apartments: (private or shared room)
Apartments are also located about 20-30 minutes away from the school and are shared with other international students. Apartments are co-ed, however, bedrooms are same-gender. The apartments always include a well-equipped kitchen (including cooking utensils), shared bathroom and living areas. The apartments vary in location, size and number of bedrooms, but expect to share with 2 - 4 other students.

Residence: (private or shared room)
The residence building is located only 10 minutes from the school and the city center by public transit. Situated in a nice, quiet area in the 11th District and very close to the underground metro, this accommodation option is for students who would like to stay in an independent comfortable living environment. Apartments are typically for 2-5 students, who share kitchen, bathroom and living area. There are single and twin rooms available. The rooms are cleaned twice weekly.

"The teachers were excellent!

They truly had knowledge about the langauge and the city and made my experience feel like I was there with friends and not strangers! The program was good and the people were very friendly. The school was clean, teachers prepared and activities well planned out.

Future Advice: Do as much as you can while there!!!!!"

________________________________
"Vienna is a beautiful city with a rich cultural history...It is a great city for a young woman to live in. I feel quite safe and comfortable here. The public transport system is efficient and runs on a regular basis.

For a student without a car it's a wonderful way of getting around town. The classes are small and one can receive the personal attention needed. The teachers are friendly and it's a great way to meet people from all over the world...this was an experience of a lifetime!!!"
Linda, H.
