As well as its famous attractions in its capital city, Copenhagen, Denmark also offers the lovely, old city of Aarhus, with its massive cathedral. In terms of arts, Hans Christian Andersen is one of the best known writers, famous worldwide for his delightful stories. Folk music is also popular in many parts of Denmark. If you decide to go there to learn Danish, you might want to try some traditional cuisine – how about the interesting Sol over Gudhjem, a dish of smoked fish, chives and raw egg yolk, or the Æbleskiver – sphere-shaped pancakes which are often eaten around Christmas time?
