Egypt – a country of contrasts. The famous River Nile which runs through this North African country has created a fertile and relatively populous area of land in its valley and delta, surrounded by what is mainly smooth, open desert. Cairo, the capital city, lies just upstream of the lush Nile Delta, and has a population of around 7 million. Some of Egypt’s coastal areas, particularly those bordering the Mediterranean and the Red Sea, offer stunning beaches and reefs to dive on; these draw tourists from around the world.


Arabic is the official language in Egypt, although English and French are also spoken there. In addition to its fascinating language, the country notably offers one of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Pyramids, located at Giza. These incredible structures together with the country’s other ancient ruins attract many tourists and archaeologists. Egypt’s rich culture and strong economy also contribute towards making it a perfect holiday destination.

Though Cairo is an ancient city, it is also on par with the modern world’s major metropolises. Cairo is known as “The City of a Thousand Minarets” and presents an extraordinary range of historical buildings and monuments from when pharaohs reigned to the periods of Greco-Roman and Christian influence, in addition to its vast Islamic architecture. Visitors not only enjoy the city’s sights, but have easy access to the Sphinx and the Pyramids of Giza only 10km outside Cairo.


Both Egyptian Colloquial Arabic (ECA) & Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) are taught.

We offer this unique way to learn a language, studying and living in the home of your own personal teacher. We offer a choice of 10, 15, 20, 25 or 30 hours of personal teaching per week plus 3 meals daily. Programs are suitable for any age of student and all levels of language skills.
