Finland: otherwise known as the home of Santa Claus, famous for its many lakes and forests and, according to a recent World Audit study, among the world’s least corrupt countries. Sounds good, doesn’t it? But Finland has much more to offer than that – frequent Aurora Borealis sightings in Lapland, a multitude of outdoor sporting activities to enjoy around its many thousand lakes and islands, and large forests which cover most of the country.


In terms of culture and art, Finland is particularly well-known for its architecture, and folk as well as classical music are also popular within the country. Finnish cuisine often includes berries and mushrooms, and milk is a particularly well-liked drink, enjoyed by both children and adults. Sautéed reindeer is also used in Lapland’s cuisine, but don’t tell the region’s most famous resident.
