After Class Activities in New York

Our New York school offers different leisure activities for you to participate in during your free time. A variety of excursions are led by our language teachers, for example to different shows and clubs, street festivals, sporting and other cultural events. You could go on an exciting visit to museums, relax in the nearby park or go to the theater. There are also trips offered at the weekend to Washington D.C., the Niagara Falls and Boston.

In addition, every Friday we offer free additional courses which are open to all our language students. Different themes related to American culture are addressed; from hip hop and fashion to creative writing.

These activities can complement your stay and help you improve you English, as well as giving you an opportunity to meet friendly people from around the world.

  • The Statue of Liberty:

    Work of the sculptor Frederic-Auguste Bartholdi, and offered as a gift from France in the 19th century, The Statue of Liberty is the most well known symbol of New York and the United States. It stands on Liberty Island, as a welcome gesture to all returning Americans, visitors, and immigrants.

  • Brooklyn Bridge:

    One of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, the Brooklyn Bridge spans the East River, connecting Brooklyn to Manhattan.

  • Central Park:

    Central Park contains several artificial lakes, extensive walking paths, two ice skating rinks, numerous ponds, a wildlife sanctuary, and grassy areas used for various sporting pursuits.

Shopping is extremely popular with many New York visitors. Fifth Avenue is the most famous place to shop but Greenwich Village, Union Square and the East Village are also good places to find great shopping.
