Mexico is located in North America, below the US and between the Pacific, the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico. It’s the most highly populated Spanish-speaking country, with over 111 million inhabitants. The country is known for its extremely rich culture: no other country in all the Americas has as many UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and its many architectural styles are particularly celebrated. Mesoamerican architecture has produced several massive monuments, and the Churrigueresque style was also very popular. Mexico is also home to some stunning modern buildings, such as the one which houses its Stock Exchange, and has many prominent contemporary architects. The country has also produced world famous painters and writers, and some of its traditional music is enjoyed around the globe.
Mexican cuisine is known for being intensely flavored and colorful; if you decide to visit, you could try some real Mexican enchiladas, burritos, tacos and chocolate – see how they compare to those which might be available at home. Mexico’s favorable climate also helps attract tourists, as do some splendid beaches, such as those at Cabo San Lucas.
