Study & learn French in MONACO

Officially called the Principality of Monaco, this city-state – which contains just one city, also known as Monaco – is situated next to France in the south west of Europe, and by the Mediterranean. While Monaco isn’t the smallest country (it’s beaten to that title by Vatican City), it does have the highest population density in the world. It contains around 10 areas, or wards, one of which is the famous area of Monte Carlo. Despite its small size, Monaco attracts many tourists with its favorable weather and well-known casino. The city is famous for its high living standards, with car rallies including Formula One and yachting festivals occurring annually.


Monaco contains beautiful architecture, such as that displayed by the Saint Nicholas Cathedral and – perhaps surprisingly – the Monte Carlo Casino. This latter attraction also has a theater, ballet and opera house, but the Monegasque people are not permitted to go inside the gambling areas.
