Brookhaven College has worked on the development of Study Abroad programs involving language institutes represented by Languages Abroad for several years.

During this time, I have gotten to know some aspects of their operations, worked with their knowledgeable and competent staff and become familiar with several of the international language schools they represent.

From among the many language schools and institutes that Languages Abroad represents, they have given us a positive recommendation, along with details and contact information for the schools. The recommended schools were exceptionally well run and that had a history of delivering quality language-and-culture programs to students from North America and Europe.

When the Academic Program Director at Languages Abroad requested that those schools complete our lengthy and in-depth Questionnaire in preparation for a site visit, the schools responded with the quantity and quality of information that was impressive and encouraged us to want to visit the school ourselves.

To date, we have sent a faculty member or administrator to recommended schools in China, Spain, Costa Rica, Argentina, Italy, Canada and France, in cooperation with our contact at Languages Abroad. This summer, we will have a faculty member visiting two recommended schools in Russia. I performed several of the site visits myself, while colleagues of mine have performed others.

The results have always been good and we have found that the quality of the programs, the environment, and the total experience to be a combination of high quality and excellent value for all of the institutes that we have visited and reviewed.

However, I can say without hesitation that if Languages Abroad has formally recommended that the program there could serve as a college-level, credit-worth experience, we at Brookhaven have seen evidence in the past that we can trust their recommendation. We have always been satisfied with the programs that Languages Abroad represents and more importantly, our students have likewise been satisfied.
