Hiking East Cuba (15 Days)

Overview

For the adventurous spirit there is nothing quite like a hike in an unknown land. Imagine yourself in the wild Cuban jungle. The colorful and mysterious landscape extends endlessly in either direction. Above you there is dense and remarkable foliage interrupted occasionally by stretches of glorious, luminous, Caribbean sky. The warm, humid air embraces you as you journey forward. You can feel your face flush. Sweat beads down your brow. With each step you feel the satisfying burn in your calves and then your thighs as you push on. You take one rhythmic breath after another.

Your chest rises and falls in harmony with your steps, and suddenly, you cannot climb any higher. You have arrived. You stop and take in the majesty of this special moment in space and time. The jungle falls away around you, and in every direction, rugged peaks, valleys, and the distant coast lay before you. You have never felt so small and yet so significant as you do now. This is what it feels like to hike in wild Cuba.

On our Hiking tour you will experience the Cuba that few tourists have the opportunity to see. You will get to camp out in a real jungle, get a first-hand look at some of the island’s most exotic plants and animals, visit some amazing (but difficult to access) historical sites like Fidel Castro’s Revolution headquarters, and champion the wilderness as you hike to the top of Cuba’s highest mountain.

As we take you through the wild Cuban jungle you will find yourself fully satisfied and at peace in the present moment. Experience the less explored and more mysterious eastern part of the island organically and as people have for centuries, on foot!
