Activities & Excursions in Victoria

Victoria is famous for The Butchart Gardens, whale-watching, British style high tea at the Fairmont Empress Hotel, beautiful beaches. The city capitalizes on its British Empire history, in fact you can come to school on a double decker bus, just like London!

During your stay you will have plenty of time to discover the area and city around Victoria and its local traditions and everyday life of citizens after your classes. The residence, school, and many of the host families live in and or near the city giving you easy access to one of the most beautiful seaside city in Canada.

A Typical Itinerary

Week 1: Your mornings begin with your English lessons after which you’ll have free time to go out and explore the city for the afternoon or depending on the day, or you can join in pre-planned activities such as a visit to Beacon Hill Park, or a city walking tour where you’ll be treated to an in-depth history of Victoria and its many hidden secrets. There’s also a weekend excursion trip to Vancouver, a city with the Rockies right in its backyard!

Week 2: Your second week typically allows you more free time as classes become easier thanks to your now improved English skills. You will again have pre-planned activities such as going hiking on nearby Mount Douglas or the beautiful and historic Butchart Gardens! If you’re feeling like spending a day relaxing, try the whale watching tour and marvel at these majestic mammals as they swim through the harbour. You’re also free to venture out and experience Victoria in your own way by walking around the various gardens and buildings in this unique coastal city.
